Dimapur, July 10 (MExN): IIM Shillong is all set to inaugurate a 2-day residential Managerial Development Program titled ‘Zen and Art of Executive Leadership’ at Mayurbhanj Palace campus, with the aim of building quality leaders for the future both in the Corporate world and organizations in general.
With the understanding that organizations today need executives who lead with integrity and vision, and leaders who make tough decisions to steer their organizations to new perspective of growth and prosperity, the course as such is aimed at exposing its participants with several aspects of leadership including a description of what leadership is and a description of several popular theories and styles of leadership. The twin purpose of the course are to make participants aware of the challenges of executive leadership and to encourage them to introspect and innovate ways for leading organizational change and delivering corporate excellence.
The experts offering the program believe that through the course, participants will leave the program with a customized personal leadership development plan—prepared to step up to a new level of leadership and deliver greater value for their organization.
The Course goals would help participants to remember and understand a comprehensive set of principles for leading individuals in organizations, complete self assessments on a wide variety of leadership variables, study self assessment results to discover individual student leadership strengths, weaknesses, challenges, and opportunities, observe effective leadership behaviors and techniques, and more importantly create a personal leadership development plan.
The 2-day program to be held on July 11 and 12, is under the Program Directorship of Professor Swapan Kumar Majumdar, BTech, PGDM (IIM-B), MSc (London School of Economics) MPhil (Imperial College, London), PhD (IIT-D). “ We are confident of offering a most contemporary and up to date content on the issue of leadership with a focus on executive leadership, wherein we shall also be referring to cases of Harvard Business Review and Kellog School of Business.” It may be mentioned that Prof Majumdar has over 30 years of varied sectoral experience in Education, Consulting and Industries spread across India and the world. Twenty five participants, mostly middle and senior level executives from across corporate organizations in India have enrolled for this 2-day residential program
