IIPM creates the magic again

Dimapur, January 18 (MExN): The Indian Institute of Planning and Management (IIPM) had received placement offers for the students, 2009-11 batches from top recruiters which included international offers as well.  
The institute which set a new benchmark in terms of global exposure has once again bagged 33 international offers till now. Companies recruited 1231 students from all the 18 campuses by December end and the figure is likely to increase as the placement process is still going on, informed a press note.
It also stated that the highlights of this year placements were the top 500 fortune companies visiting the campuses in all the 18 branches of the institute including Citibank, HSBC, Coca Cola, Reliance, Airtel, Lafarge, Standard & Poor, Hedrick & Struggle, Frost & Sullivan etc. The average domestic package for the 2009-11 batches has been Rs 5 lakh p.a.
The Bangalore branch topped the list with 70 percent placement till now, followed by Delhi with 60 percent and Mumbai with 51 percent. The highest package at Delhi went at Rs 7.6 lakh per annum followed by Noida and Bangalore at Rs 7 lakh per annum. Students from other campuses located in cities like Jaipur, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Pune also bagged good offers with the highest package at Rs 5.50 lakh p.a., Rs 5.25 lakh p.a., Rs 5.50 lakh p.a., and Rs 4.20 lakh p.a. respectively.
The other companies which visited the campus included ICICI, ITC, Idea Cellular, Radiocity, Jindal Steel, Zee Entertainment, Eelweiss Capital & High Beam Global, ICICI Securities, Barclays Bank, India Bulls, allegro, Learning Time, Bonanza,
Frankfinn etc.
According to Prof. Arindam Chaudhuri Hony Dean- centre of economic research and advanced studies “The placements at IIPM is being steadfast in spite of many challenges at economic front globally last year and surely we are getting better this year in terms of the packages and offers as corporate India is back again in hiring mode. If one has to go by the current trends, IIPM is set to create magic in the International placement scenario too this year”, the note added.
