Dimapur, July 7 (MExN): Reacting to various opinions of the general public and mostly, furious womenfolk of Dimapur, which was published in local dailies, The Naga Women Hoho Dimapur today stated that that it did not intend for the public to be confused. The NWHD said that it wanted to clarify and stated that indecent dressing is in no way related to rape.
NWHD convenes emergency meet
Speaking to The Morung Express, Naga Women Hoho Dimapur president Hukheli T. Wotsa stated that the NWHD is the voice of the public, and that is merely voicing the opinion of the people. She also defined “Indecent dressing” as anyone wearing “backless”, “micro-mini”, and “showing of buttocks”. She also further stated that Nagaland is a Christian state and it is not right for anyone to be dressed provocatively. “As a Christian we want all women to wear decent clothes”, she reiterated.
She also stated that people should not misunderstand the intentions of the NWHD. Further, she claimed that NWHD has been receiving ‘many messages of appreciation’ and that ‘only some people’ are criticizing. In connection to this matter, NWHD also informed that it is convening an emergency meeting at 4:00 pm on July 8. Meanwhile, the public seems to be carrying the NWHD “Indecent dressing” resolution on their sleeve. Irate debates and discussions haven’t simmered down as of yet.
