Why choose Life Coach as a career?
When I recognized in me that I had a passion to witness people achieve their goals and visions, I talked about this with a mentor. This was when she encouraged and pushed me to pursue this career. With her assistance I got myself enrolled in the certification program.
For me, Life coaching is one of the most fulfilling jobs through which I can contribute to creating a sustainable and quality of life for each other. Looking at our rapidly changing world, the need for life coaches here in Nagaland is massive and inevitable especially when faced with the age-old unemployment problem.
Area of services you offer?
Some of the domains in which I offer life coaching services to my clients are- professional and personal development; mindset, character building, personality development, transformation, behaviour, leadership development, relationship building and emotional intelligence in communication at home and workplace.
I’m also currently associated with Unity College where I’m required to train students through varied topics on soft skills. Apart from this responsibility, I offer services to clients through private practice called ‘Hatch Your Dreams.’
I work with individuals, corporate organisations, NGO’s, colleges, schools, offices, anyone and everyone who needs guidance and support to achieve meaningful goals. There is no age specific or certain category to avail my coaching services. It is fitting for every person who needs direction and help to achieve desired goals and visions.
In Naga scenario, how would the services of a Life Coach benefit?
Especially in our Naga context, life coaching will directly benefit corporate companies and organisations, schools and universities, entrepreneurs, local communities and individuals as the problem of employment is huge. The need of the hour is to recruit life coaches if we want to see more employable Nagas. Equipping and empowering more individuals is a necessity to increase the number of employable and skilled people. The more our people get coached, the more increase in achieving desired goals and visions leading to an improved quality of life.
If a client had 3 minutes with you what questions should they be asking?
Clients are expected to come with an agenda to work with a Life Coach. So, clients can ask and expect me to help them in their areas of need. Examples:
“I want to improve my relationship with my spouse, family or at workplace”.
“I want to improve my personal skills and professional skills”.
“I want to improve my leadership skills”.
“I want to improve my communication skills”.
“I’m a student and I want to do well in studies, mental, spiritual and physical health”.
“I want to crack a difficult exam, but I feel stuck and not able to motivate myself to prepare”.
“I have arrived midlife with burning questions, I need help to discover my unique purpose”.
How do you develop yourself and continue to grow?
My perspective of learning has totally taken a different curve comparing to so many years ago.
I find my passion for learning only growing from the so many experiences I had, both pleasant and unpleasant.
As a life coach, I cannot afford to stay complacent in my past learning; it is a necessity to expand. I’m grateful that this profession continually trains me to be up to date. It’s a game of ‘being’ and not so much of doing, it is truly a lifelong process and I have so much to learn from life, people, experiences & books.
