The Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur has informed that a facilitation centre for inter district movement of stranded local/indigenous people will be set up at the Badminton Stadium from May 7 to 9.

The following officers have been detailed for the exercise: Wacy Kent, SDO (C), Niuland (8794939010); Tokai, SDO (C), Medziphema (8837018182); and Tsidi, EAC, Dimapur (7085239106).

The Dimapur DC, in an order, stated that the facilitation cell started issuing travel permits from May 5 onwards and started receiving application of stranded local/indigenous people.

The cell will also undertake booking of NST bus tickets. The names, contact numbers and destination of the passengers should be compiled for intimation of travel dates.

The DC further ordered all executive magistrates through the ward or village authority to compile the list of such people from their respective jurisdictions and submit the same to the facilitation centre.

Meanwhile, stranded local/indigenous people wanting to travel in their own private vehicles will be allowed after the DC issues necessary permits specifying travel dates.

In Mokokchung as well, the DC has opened up a facilitation cell with the nodal officers being: Temsuchuba Jamir, EAC (Sadar); Station Superintendent, NST Mokokchung; and Regional Transport Officer, Mokokchung.

The order stated that in case of difficulties faced by the stranded people to reach the DC’s office, the ward or village authorities shall compile the list of such persons and submit the same to the facilitation cell.

All passengers travelling in NST buses have been directed to carry their own packed food/refreshments. Further 2 seats are to be reserved for security personnel in each bus.

Those wanting to travel in their private vehicles can also apply for the permit at the facilitation cell.
