Inter-ministerial team assess disaster areas in Dimapur

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 27 (MExN): An inter-ministerial team led by Joint Secretary (A) National Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), Ramesh Kumar Ganta arrived Dimapur on November 27 for assessing the damages and collect reports with regard to the recent floods in Nagaland which has affected several families and incurred loss of properties.
A DIPR report stated that in Dimapur, the team visited Thahekhu Block- 7 and Naharbari colony and interacted with the village council members and some of the affected families to get first hand information. The team expressed appreciation for the efforts put in by the village council and NGOs during times of disaster.
Other team members of the inter ministerial team include Deena Bath, consultant (FCD) Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, Narendra Kumar, director, Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare, DJD, Kolkota, SS Modi, deputy secretary from Ministry of Rural Development, Abishek Agarwal, assistant executive engineer, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Regional Office, Guwahati.
DC Dimapur, Anoop Kinchi along with administrative officers, OSD, NSDMA, Johnny Rongmei along with DDMA Dimapur members and officials from line departments also accompanied the IMCT during the disaster site visits at Dimapur.
The team will be leaving for Mokokchung by road on November 28 and halt for the night after which they will proceed to Wokha on November 29 and reach Kohima the same day. On November 30, the team will have a debriefing with Nagaland Chief Minister and the line departments.
