Kohima, November 3 (MExN): The Department of History, Modern College, Kohima organised a one day International webinar under the theme ‘Re-thinking Gender Issues: Voices of Young Minds’ on November 3.
The webinar was chaired by Senjano N Murry, HoD, Department of History while Dr Vitsou Yano, Principal, gave the welcome address.
The speakers were Julia Gunther, Scholar at University of Vienna and Lecturer at Karl Landsteiner, Dr Lovitoli Jimo, Assistant Professor, Ambedkar University Delhi, spoke on the topic ‘Her(story) in History: Traditional Governance systems, and Customary Practices and Laws’ while Dr Teresa L Khawzawl, Assistant professor, Department of Anthropology, Cotton University, Guwahati, spoke on the topic ‘Women, work and leisure’.
Dr Resenmenla Longchar, Assistant Professor, Department of History, ICFAI University, Nagaland spoke on the topic ‘Gender performances and roles in Ao-Naga Family System’, a press release from the college informed on Tuesday.
