IRCS Kiphire unit honours frontline workers

The Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) Kiphire unit celebrated the International World Red Cross Day on May 8 at the Conference Hall of the District Hospital, Kiphire with frontline workers where Deputy Commissioner Kiphire Sarita Yadav, IAS was the special guest.
Delivering the keynote address, the special guest said the theme of the year ‘Keep clapping for the volunteer’ is very appropriate and expressed trust on the frontline workers. “COVID-19 is here to stay with us and the only thing we have to do is to follow the instructions and maintain social distancing,” she said while appreciating the frontline workers for giving their best for humanity.
She pointed out that public are not well aware on the importance of social distancing and therefore, appealed to the Red Cross volunteers to spread the message and educate them on the concern.
SK James, Life Member, Indian Red Cross Society Kiphire district who shared on the theme also appreciated the frontline workers for their selfless sacrifice. He also led the congregation to clap for the volunteers.
Tsointhe, Hony Secretary chaired the programme and also led the participants to read the pledge.
