ISHTH campaign held in Tobu

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 11 (MExN): The Integrated STI, HIV, TB and Hepatitis (ISHTH) Campaign organized by DAPCU Tobu was held at JACAOA Rehabilitation Centre, Tobu on August 10 with Chubatemjen, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Tobu as special guest. 

In a short speech, ADC Chubatemjen thanked the medical department and the team for the ISHTH campaign in prison and other closed settings and for their continued efforts in creating awareness as well as providing medical services through the campaign in the district, a press release issued by DPO, DAPCU Mon stated. 

The ADC, meanwhile, encouraged the participants to have faith and strong determination to heal physically, mentally and spiritually. He further urged the gathering not to discriminate or stigmatize anyone basing on one’s behaviour, but rather offer love and care for their well being. 

Earlier, the key note address was delivered by Longyim Tzudir, DPO, DAPCU Mon. Awareness sessions on Hepatitis, STI, HIV and TB were presented by Dr Pangjong, MO, CHC Tobu, Ngamnyei Konyak, Counselor, M.ICTC and Loshon Konyak, HIV/TB DOTS Supervisor, NTEP, Mon respectively. 

As part of the campaign, free services including health checkups, free medicines and voluntary screening of STI, HIV, TB and hepatitis were given to the clients.
