Wokha, March 24 (MExN): The Lotha students union has appealed to the department of health and family welfare to issue adequate thermal scanners and safety suit to Wokha District Hospital.
The Union said that the move was needed to ensure safety for the public as Wokha district shares the longest boundary belt with Assam.
The LSU also said that it inspected the Bhandari Check Gate on March 23 and learned that the concerned department is not in a position to tackle COVID-19 and urged the state government and the concerned minister of Health & Family Welfare to immediately intervene and supply medical equipment needed for the safety of the district.
The union also warned that any pharmacies or individuals found selling hand sanitizers, masks and commodities above the MRP within its jurisdiction will be dealt with seriously as per the law.
It also appealed to the students returning to Wokha district to cooperate with the medical department’s formalities for safety measures and to be home quarantined immediately. For any assistance, the LSU said their students grievances cell can be contacted through Pithungo Shitio General Secretary 8974523931 and Vice President Chumben Khuvung 7005362064.
