On Job reservation

•-As appeared in local dailies under the heading “Job Reservation for Backward Tribe increase to 37 %”. Since the backward tribes are now entitled to 37 % job reservation, to be fair to the forward tribes, the Government of Nagaland should introduce the UPSC pattern of job reservation policy where the backward tribes are given the option either to compete with the forward tribes/general category or avail the reservation quota and not both of them while filling up application forms for various exam conducted for government jobs. In this way the 37% job reservation for backward tribes will be safeguarded and it will be a win-win situation for both the backward and forward tribes. It’s an appeal to the Government of Nagaland to apply this pattern of job reservation starting from the recently conducted LDA-cum -Computer Assistant examination. Hope the Naga Student Federation (NSF) and Eastern Naga Student Federation ( ENSF) will seriously take up the matter with the concerned department.
