Jubilee of Religious Commitment of Sisters celebrated at SMHSS
Priests, religious sisters and the school staff of St Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Padumpukhuri after the celebration on December 12.
Dimapur, December 15 (MExN): The Diamond and Silver Jubilee of Religious Commitment of Sisters Brigit Lakra and Ansita Jacob MSMHC were celebrated at St Mary’s Higher Secondary School (SMHSS) Campus, Padumpukhuri on December 12.
The occasion was graced by Most Reverend Dr James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima Diocese. He officiated the Holy Eucharistic celebration and preached the Homily based on the theme “Love.”
Priests, religious sisters, staff of SMHSS, Catholic community of Padumpukhuri, students and friends attended the Jubilee celebration, said a press release from Fr Renthungo Victor, Secretary to Bishop.
In his homily, Bishop James highlighting on love said, “Love as we know is the core and kernel of Christianity.” He said that it is love that sustains religious commitment. He reminded that religious life is a journey from plenty to empty and appreciated the jubilarians for the services they have rendered to the church in general and the diocese of Kohima in particular.
A short felicitation programme was organized by the aspirants and students. A Jubilee cake was also cut to solemnize the day.
