‘Ketsangriju: An Indigenous Skills Training Centre’ at Fazl Ali College (FAC), Mokokchung was inaugurated on June 30.
Mokokchung, July 1 (MExN): ‘Ketsangriju: An Indigenous Skills Training Centre’ at Fazl Ali College (FAC), Mokokchung, donated by Chuchuyimpang Village Council (CVC) was inaugurated on June 30.
The building ‘Ketsangriju’ will be utilised by the college as a centre for imparting indigenous skills and vocational courses to the students of FAC.
The Information and Publicity Cell of the college in a press release stated that a solid grounding on one’s culture and tradition is vital to the development of an individual’s character and personality. “Students must be clear about their roots and identity before they step out to a world of multiple possibilities. The symbolic Arju (Morung) donated by Chuchuyimpang Riongsanger Putu Tatar Menden will be a stepping stone towards the academic roadmap of the College.”
Toshisangla, IQAC FAC member and Assistant Professor, Ao Department chaired the programme, while Helen Jamir, Principal, FAC in her inaugural keynote address acknowledged CVC for the much needed unique one of its kind centre/morung built within the college campus.
Chairman, CVC in his speech said that the project to build the Morung was decided on March 5, 2021 by the village council along with the college authority. He envisioned that the true purpose of ‘Ketsangriju’ will benefit thousands of learners and realise positive results in the near future. The building project was entrusted to three person of the council member and the final total cost of the building stands at Rs 5,39,790.
The dedicatory prayer was said by Rev W Supong Kichutzar, Pastor, Tzusapang Baptist Church. The programme was attended by the members of the College IQAC only while the other faculty members joined through the live streaming
