Dimapur, June 24 (MExN): The National Socialist Council of Nagaland Khaplang group has stated that whether you like it or not the truth was that Chairman S.S.Khaplang was not only a fatherly figure for the Nagas but, he is also a fatherly figure for almost all revolutionary organization of the so-called North-East India. Even today he had as much hold as it was before, stated a press note issued by P.Tikhak Spokesperson. The press note went on to explain that Kitovi Zhimomi was the Sectional Officer or S.O to chairman S.S.Khaplang and later, appointed as defence secretary and thereafter inducted into the council of kilonser as Deputy Kilonser. He was handpicked by chairman Khaplang for the most coveted post of Ato-Kilonser after the untimely demise of former Ato-Kilonser Dally Mongru. According to the Spokesperson although many other kilonsers senior to him were also there, he was picked for the post as a “good will gesture to our Sema brethrens”. “Therefore, trying to insult a man who had groomed him from his tender age is equally insulting his parents”, stated the press note.
Further it was also clarified that at no point of time it was decided by the GPRN or consented by the Chairman that, Kehoi will be the Council HeadQuarter. “Kehoi was as much as a designated camp as any other designated camp of NSCN. Therefore, conducting of National Hoho in itself was un-constitutional”, it stated while also adding that a few groups of people from one or two community don’t make a National Hoho. “Thus, it was nothing but a face saving activity of Kitovi who was questioned for his inefficiency in dealing with the National issues”, the press note stated.
On reconciliation it was stated that Chairman S.S.Khaplang had appointed Wangtin Naga for a preliminary discussion with the other groups at the early stage and later on by signing in the Covenant of Reconciliation had “shown his utter willingness to stop killing among the Nagas”. “No human being must be happy with violence but, when you are challenged you are bound to defend yourself and it is what exactly happened with us”, the group explained while giving details of the incidents involving offensive from the National Socialist Council of Nagalim.
