The 68th general conference of the Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) will be held under the theme ‘Reinvigorate’ at Khar village under Mokokchung district from January 15 to 17, 2020. The host of AKM 2020, Khar village is situated at Jangpetkong range under Mangkolemba subdivision.
The conference will be inaugurated on January 15 evening by Temjen Imna Along, Minister, Higher & Technical education and Tribal Affairs. Exhortation speech will be delivered by Dr Longrineken, Advisor, Treasures & Accounts and National Highway; MLA Moatoshi; and Limawabang Jamir, Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung.
On January 16, the morning session will be graced by G. Kaito Aye, Minister, Agriculture and Cooperation as the special guest. The other speakers during the morning session will include Imkongwati, President, AKM; Ninoto Awomi, President, NSF; Chubawati Longchar, President, Ao Senden. Metsübo Jmair, Minister, Rural Development will deliver the exhortation. AKM Educational Promotional Trust Award will be also conferred during the function.
In the afternoon session, Imnatiba, Advisor, Industries & Commerce, Labour & Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship will deliver word of challenge while greetings will be brought by Maonginla, President, Watsü Mungdang. A panel discussion will be also conducted with speakers including Prof B Kilangla Jamir, Dean, RDC, Nagaland University; Tsükti Longkumer, President, Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce and Industries (MCCI); and Imtisunep Longchar, Director, Ilandlo. An informal session will be held in the evening.
On the third day, greetings will be delivered by Himato Yeptho, President, Central Nagaland Students Association (CNSA) and Sepili Sangtam, President, Eastern Naga Students Federation (ENSF) and exhortation by Temjen Toy, IAS, Chief Secretary.
This will be followed by the panel discussion with Dr Pangersenla Walling, Assistant Professor, Department of Linguistic, NU, Merima and K Temjen Jamir, Editor, Tiryimyim as the speakers.
The closing session will be graced by Tongpang Ozukum, Minister, Mechanical & Housing. The election for new team of AKM office bearers will be also conducted during the session.
Earlier, on December 21 morning a solemn “consecratory service of the conference venue” was led by Khar Baptist Arogo, Pastor, L Kumzuk Walling in the presence of AKM officials, village council members, local planning committee & sub-committees and Khar Kaketshir Telongjem officials.
