KMC directs shops on lights

Kohima, November 2 (MExN): The Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has directed all shops and business establishment under KMC jurisdiction to light up their respective shops and business establishments without fail. “Failure to comply with the directives would invite penalties and be deemed fit and appropriate,” stated a press release issued by KMC, Administrator, Kovi Meyase. The KMC administrator also stated that many neon lights put on signboards for illuminating the streets at night are not functioning. “And while such lighting add a semblance of beauty and serenity to the city, it is also pertinent to realize that it adds to the security of the citizens and also acts as a deterrent for illegal activities and antisocial elements,” he added while issuing the directives.
