Kobulong citizens receive washable cotton facemasks

Mokokchung, May 9 (MExN): Under the initiative of the Mokokchung District Task Force COVID19, washable cotton facemasks were distributed to all the villages and Kobulong Town under EAC Kobulong Block after a programme at the EAC Office, Kobulong on May 9.
The washable cotton masks were all stitched by the volunteers and SHGs under NSRLM Kobulong block. They stitched a total of 6077 masks in two weeks under the Mokokchung District Task Force COVID19 Mask Project.
EAC Kubolong, Kupeusing Meru thanked all the SHGs and volunteers for selflessly rendering yeoman service to stitch the face masks for the citizens. He also thanked the Managers, NRLM for coordinating with the SHGs and supporting the mask campaign in the circle.
Kubolung is now the first sub division in the District to receive free washable cotton masks to all its citizens initiated by the Mokokchung District Task Force COVID-19 and funded by the citizens of Mokokchung district.
The villages under Kobulong circle include Sungratsu, Mopungchuket, Chami, Longpa, Longjang, Khanimo, Yimchalu, Kobulong Town and Impur Mission Centre.
Sentilong Ozukum, EAC Hq Mokokchung and Nodal Officer for the Masks Project appreciated the SHGs of Kobulong Block under NSRLM for their voluntary service and sacrifice and stitching washable cotton masks for all the citizens under Kobulong block in just two weeks. He also commented EAC Kobulong, Kupeusing Meru for spearheading the mask campaign under Kubolong Block.
Ozukum further stated that a total of more than 30,000 washable cotton masks have been completed so far in the district and they would be further distributed circle wise in a phase manner.
The Masks Project is a hundred percent citizen funded initiative which is aimed to produce a total number of 2 lakhs masks covering the entire district of Mokokchung with an estimated budget of Rs 25 lakhs.
