Government Primary School for Children with Special Needs (CWSN), Lower Lerie, Kohima on Wednesday acquired 30 Teaching Learning Materials (TLMs) and equipments for CWSN through Ward Adoption under District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) Kohima.
Kohima SDO (Civil) Nockpai Konyak speaking during a short programme said the District Planning and Development Board, Kohima District under Ward Adoption adopted Lerie Colony last year in the month of November. He said the Ward adoption programme has been designed to leverage and support community with small resources available with the DPDB. Konyak said the programme aims to sustain livelihoods, promote good practices for betterment of the communities. Here activities such as skill development, awareness, sanitation and school healthcare development among others are undertaken so that awareness on government schemes can also reach to the masses.
“You may not see infrastructures erected or huge development but through adoption, we want to show the way for the people,” he cited. The Divisional Officer also added that if the school was doing well through the support of the School Management Committee and the resources being used properly, the support will sustain
Lerie Panchayat Chairman, Dr Ilang delivered speech and thanked the district administration for adopting the ward under District Planning Board and providing assistance to the Lerie Colony.
He also said the school is seen a fast progress with the dedication of the teachers and encouraged them to do well. The Chairman further lauded the SMC members for giving much efforts in carrying forward the goals of the government.
Amen, CSWN teacher said equipments were very important part of the special needs children’s and other children’s education.
Earlier, Kedivi Mekro, Teacher in-charge was the leader of the programme and Meduhele Solo, Chairperson, School Management Committee (SMC) have the vote of thanks. Lilavati spoke on behalf of Class A and B.
