Kohima Smart City working on Citizens Apps

Kohima, January 17 (MExN): The Kohima Smart City conducted a short briefing and interaction on the Smart City Projects for the trainees of waste management at the Kohima Smart City Development Limited office on January 17. 
The programme was organized by the Nagaland Pollution Control Board under “Green Skill Development Programme”, sponsored by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. 


The Smart City Officials presented presentations on the various upcoming and ongoing projects and those that were successfully completed. This was followed by a discussion hour where the trainees asked about the green and environment related projects and projects focused on waste management. 


The trainees were informed that under e-governance, the Kohima Smart City is working on Citizens Apps for information dissemination, grievances redressal system, Incident Management System and websites also for applications like online trade license registration and renewal, Building Bye Laws, Smart Transport System, etc. 


Under the IT Sector, one of the trainees opined that most of the government websites are not updated and contains very old images and write ups. She requested that an active and up to date website is a must and whether the Kohima Smart City can work on such a website.


Some Trainees also requested for seminars and trainings for educated unemployed youths. 


Altogether 13 trainees who are all graduates and five NPCB Officials attended the interaction. The training also included site visits to the solid waste management site at Lierie and the Septage Management Plant at Meriema with the Kohima Municipal Council besides other activities.
