DIMAPUR, JUNE 13 (MExN): The office of the Deputy Superintendent of Police Kohima has informed the general public that Kohima traffic police will be implementing the following norms namely driving license, pollution and fitness certificate, registration certificate, insurance, road permit for commercial vehicle, countersigned by RTO if from other zone or state for commercial vehicle, retro-reflective tape for all commercial vehicles particularly trucks. Also it was directed that the number plate of vehicle should be bold black letter on white background for private and govt. vehicle and bold black letter on yellow background for all commercial vehicles. Therefore the public are requested to rectify the lapses at the earliest and it is mandatory to produce the above mention document to the police personnel in uniform under MV Act 1988 section 130/158.
The PRO DEF Kohima has also informed that in the past few days more than 200 vehicles were penalized under various section of MV Act 1988. Further the general public are informed that the Kohima traffic police will deposit Rs.1,04,550 ( Rs.53,350 from 2010 and Rs. 51,200 from Jan 2011 till date) collected from penalizing traffic defaulter.
