The Khomi Public Organization (KPO) has organised 14th Wrestling Meet 2023 at Lower Khomi in Phek district on December 27 last.
Sao Vezhu, Akhruku Vezhu, Mututso Nienu and Surhovoyi Nienu (all from Upper Khomi) bagged 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th position respectively in senior category.
In junior category, Mulubi from Upper Khomi emerged the champion title while Vemuku from Middle Khomi, Khreve from Upper Khomi and Vephuyi from Upper Khomi stood 2nd, 3rd and 4th position respectively.
In Under 16 category, the winners were included 1st -Rode (Upper Khomi), 2nd-Kuluvoyi (Middle Khomi), 3rd -Vekruo (Upper Khomi) and 4th-Khruhu (Middle Khomi).
Cekropa Tenenu, VCC Middle Khomi and Niivecho Vero, VCC Upper Khomi graced the meet as the special guest and guest of honour respectively.
Earlier, KPO President Phethosü Nakro delivered welcome address while KPO Sports Technical Secretary, Müyoku Cürha administered oath to the wrestlers. The inaugural function was chaired by Hüsüve Lohe while KPO Finance Secretary, Thüpurüda Nienu proposed vote of thanks.
