The new office building of Kohima Smart City Development Limited (KSCDL) and Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) was inaugurated here today at new Super Market complex, Kohima.

It was formally inaugurated by Dr. Neiphi Kire, chairman Kohima Village Council.

Dr. Kire lauded the KMC led by administrator Kovi Meyase for putting its best effort for improvement of Kohima city. He was optimistic that the KMC will continue to render its best service and make Kohima as one of the finest cities in the country. He also extended fullest support from Kohima Village Council side for overall development of Kohima city.

KMC administrator Kovi Meyase said that the inauguration of KSCDL and KMC new office building is the first completed project under Kohima smart city.

Er. Theruovituo Pienyu, GM, project KSCDL  stated that the project was approved during the 13th Board of Directors on September 28, 2018 to be taken up under upgrading central commercial area as per the smart city proposal.

The detailed project was prepared at an estimated of Rs. 132.59 lakhs. The tender was floated through e-tender on November 13, 2018 and after all necessary approvals were obtained, the work order was issued by M/S Golden Traders on December 14, 2018. The total area of the building is 800 sqm.

Earlier, the function was chaired by Avelu Ruho, joint CEO, KSCDL while Rev. Dr. Rachülie Vihienuo, pastor Union Baptist Church Kohima pronounced dedicatory prayer.
