In line with its declared golden jubilee theme “Sesomiso” (Integrity) and fully recognizing the importance of integrity in individual lives and society, the Kuzhalhu Zawe today came out with various resolutions during its golden jubilee celebration at Pfutsero town.
On affirmation of peace, unity and integrity wherein the people are confronted with all kinds of social challenges that threatens the peace, unity and integrity of the community, the Kuzhalhu Zawe reaffirmed and rededicated themselves to work for the peace, unity, integrity and solidarity of the Kuzhami community in particular and the Chakhesang Naga community in general.
On preservation of the culture & identity and development of Kuzhale Literature works wherein the people are confronted with various challenges of its culture and identity specially literature development and in upholding the government policy of introducing and promoting mother tongues in the fields of education, it reaffirmed to strengthen, support, revive the cultural values and identity and specially revive the existing Kuzhami Literature Board and thereby facilitate production of standard literature for use in the academic studies.
On national repentance and forgiveness wherein the society is confronted with all kinds of challenges and whereas God works in response to prayer (James 5:16) and whereas every great social and spiritual awakening has been preceded by God's people praying together and “whereas it is out most important to acknowledge and confess the national sins of our people, the sins of our ancestors, our forefathers and all the sins of the present generations ( Jeremiah 3:25),” it resolved to observe a one day National Repentance and forgiveness for the whole of Kuzhami community in all the Kuzhami inhabited areas under the umbrella of Kuzhalhu Zawe on April 9, 2022.
In the form of appreciation & acknowledgement, it solemnly acknowledged God “for our beautiful life and existence as a unique people group among the ethnic peoples of the world: “We acknowledge the many fold blessings of our creator God including the time-tested rich cultural values and heritage which we have inherited through our ancestors since time immemorial,” it stated.
It also acknowledged and recognized the age-old leadership legacy of “our ancestors and elders of the immediate past who brought about the establishment of Kuzhalhu Zawe in 1971 to foster unity, brotherhood and specially to revive our rich cultural traditions and values including our language development.”
It also acknowledged and appreciated the present leadership team of Kuzhalhu Zawe (Office bearers of 2017-2021) and all the committees/bodies under the Kuzhalhu Zawe for their sacrificial contributions & services rendered towards the successful celebration of Kuzhalhu Zawe Golden Jubilee.
Further, it appreciated the resourceful and valuable contributions of all the jubilee patrons, all the resource speakers and all jubilee official participants, including Neiba Kronu, Minister for Planning & Co-ordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs, Nagaland, Kezhienyi Khalo, MLA, Nagaland, K. Therie, President Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee, Timikha Koza, president Tenyimi People Organisation, Mikha Kenye, president Chakhesang Public Organisation, Rev. Dr. V.K. Nuh, chairman Naga Archive and Research Centre (NARC) and Rev. Zupelhi Mero for pronouncement of blessings and others.
This resolution was read out during the golden jubilee celebration of Kuzhalhu Zawe by Resolution Committee convenor Rev Dr Kedoungulo Mero. Other members of the committee included Er Kemvu Elah and Eyekowe K Tara.
