Dimapur, May 11 (MExN): The Kuda Village Council (KVC) on Monday wrote to Dimapur Deputy Commissioner requesting for pre-emptive measures in containing possible COVID-19 cases at the BSF Transit Camp in Kuda village. The Council, in its letter, stated that “several reports have been received from media that certain BSF Jawans from Tripura have been detected as COVID-19 positive,” causing panic/fear psychosis among the villagers. As such, it requested the DC to take preventive measures for the safety and interest of Kuda village and the public in general. It may be noted that district health officers had already on May 9 clarified that there is no COVID-19 positive case in the BSF Transit Camp in Kuda Village. It was added that the BSF jawans returning from leave were sampled as a precautionary measure as dictated by protocol. Military personnel are required to be quarantined for 14 days on return to their place of deployment in centers set up by their unit.
