Mon, November 28 (MExN): Krishi Vigyan Kendra Mon (Aboi) Nagaland conducted a week long programme in different locations at Angphang, Sowa Changle, KVK premises Aboi and farmers field Aboi from November 19 to 24.
The KVK Assistant Chief Technical Officer (Plant Breeding) Dr Manoj Singh Sachan organized skill training programs on “Seed Production Technology of major Rabi Crops” and “Tuber Seed production of Potato” three days each along with under Frontline Demonstration on potato program training-cum-method demonstration.
An ‘On Farm Trials on Chickpea cultivation’ practice was also imparted. During the program, double or sequential cropping system were also highlighted and encouraged the farmers to grow winter crops such as pea, chick pea, potato, mustard, winter maize, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, tomato, chilli, beans, etc after harvesting of rice to increase the productivity, profitability and cropping intensity per unit of area.
Altogether, 74 practicing farmers attended the program; free seeds, and other critical inputs for doubling of income was given to the farmers, a press release informed.
