KVK Mon, Kohima launches awareness programme on fertilizer application

Mon, October 22 (MExN): The launching of awareness programme on fertilizer application was organized by KVK Mon at its premises on October 22 under Department of Agriculture Cooperation & Farmers Welfare, Department of Agricultural Research and Education and Department of Fertilizers, Government of India.
Resource person Imtinuksung, SMS (Soil Conservation) delivered the lecture and power point presentation on various topics like Importance of soil test for improvement of soil health and crop nutrients, utilisation of mixed fertilizers for increasing of nutrients efficiency, Effective utilisation of bio-fertilizers and collection of soil samples.
The participants were enlightened with video show on Integrated Nutrient Management by Dr MS Sachan. The programme was chaired by Dr Paihem Michui, ACTO (Animal science) and vote of thanks by SMS (Soil Conservation).
Altogether 95 participants from Nganching, Chinglong, Mohung, Langmeang villages, Aboi Town, KU and KNSK Aboi unit attended the programme.

Kohima: The launching programme on fertilizer application, sponsored by Department of Agriculture Cooperation and Farmers Welfare, Government of India was organized by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kohima at KVK Conference hall on October 22.
Kenyuseng Tep, President (Rengma Hoho) and Speaker (Naga Hoho) speaking as guest of honour during the programme emphasized that farmers has grown crops since time immemorial without the knowledge of fertilizer application and the produce was enough and self sufficient, however with changing times the knowledge to enrich the soil condition is required and is the need of the hour. He further acknowledged the efforts of the KVKs and also requested to highlight about locally available fertilizers to farmers.
During the technical session topics on fertilizer application and pig nutrition were delivered by Zhiete ACTO (soil science) and Dr. Temjennungsang ACTO (Vety & AH) respectively. Short video clips on Integrated Nutrient Management was also shown to the participants, visit to KVK Demonstration Farm, Mechanised Technology Display were some of the activities conducted.
The programme was chaired by Imtisenla, ACTO (Agronomy) while the vote of thanks was proposed by Longma Yanger, ACTO (Agri. Ext).
