KVK Peren holds training on poultry rearing

Dimapur, December 3 (MExN): A three-day training programme on “Poultry Rearing and Management” under Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) was organized by ICAR, KVK Peren from November 28 to 30 at KVK Office, Jalukie.

 

Dr. L. Babita Devi, Course Coordinator and incharge KVK Peren, highlighted on the importance of using improved poultry germplasm in backyard condition for sustainable livelihood and income generation. Lecture on “Backyard poultry farming” was also elaborated by her.

 

During the technical session, various resource persons Doctors, Z James Kikon, Patu K Zeliang, Ebibeni Ngullie (KVK Dimapur), Shyamananda Mukherjee, Imtiwati, and O. Kurien (CoVSc, CAU, Jalukie) delivered lectures on various topics related to poultry farming and management. A hands-on practical demonstration on construction of low cost poultry house with Bamboo was also demonstrated by Dr Kurien.

 

Distribution of Farm tools and Implements like Cono weeder, Wheel Hoe, Seed dibbler and Ridge maker was also done under TSP on November 30 in collaboration with CoVSc, CAU Jalukie. The input distribution programme was chaired by Dr. Capt. G. Dhananjaya Rao, Dean, CVSc, CAU, Jalukie, along with Dr. S. Mukherjee and Dr. Imtiwati, Dr L.Babita, Z.James Kikon, Dr Patu K.Zeliang and Dr Ebibeni Ngullie.  Altogether 31 farmers from Bongkolong, Ngwalwa, Jalukie town, Jalukiekam, Samziuram, Beisumpuikam, New Jalukie,  were benefitted under the programme.
