KVK Tuensang trains youth on entrepreneurship dev

Tuensang, February 2 (MExN): Krishi Vigyan Kendra–Tuensang organized training cum demonstration on the topic “Entrepreneurship development through value addition” on February 1. The training was a follow-up training provided to the participants who have undergone training provided by the Institute one year back to update on their activities.


The special guest for the programme was Dr Pritpal Kaur (IPS), SDPO, DEF - Tuensang. Speaking on the occasion, she encouraged each participant to be bold, independent and creative in the business world and inculcate value creation, as to start and build any business venture, new business owners will be at an advantage if they possess strong entrepreneurship characteristics, such as creativity, risk-taking, goal-setting and gave examples of some well known leaders in the business. During the technical sessions, resource person Neha Bharat Markad trained the participants on Chocolate candy making followed by hands-on demonstration on packaging, labeling and sealing of products.


The inaugural programme was chaired by Dr Shisarenla Aier, Subject Matter Specialist (Horticulture), KVK-Tuensang and welcome address was pronounced by Yanger I Kichu, Farm Manager, KVK-Tuensang. Dr Keviletsu Khate, Senior Scientist & Head, KVK-Tsg gave a brief remark on the importance of value added products, its manufacturing and marketing.


Altogether 19 participants participated where they received a certificate provided by Agriculture Skill Council of India (ASCI), Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India. As a start up, a set of garden tools were distributed to all the participants.
