KVK winds up weeklong farmers training at Aboi

Mon, November 25 (MExN): Krishi Vigyan Kendra Mon (Aboi) conducted a week long programme at different areas in Angphang, Sowa Changle, KVK premises, Aboi and farmer’s field, Aboi from November 19-24.  

KVK Asst Chief Technical Officer (Plant Breeding) Dr Manoj Singh Sachan in a press release stated that three-day skill training programs including “Seed Production Technology of major Rabi Crops” and “Tuber Seed production of Potato” were conducted.  

Under Frontline Demonstration on potato programme training cum method demonstration as well as under On Farm Trials on Chickpea cultivation practices was also imparted.  

During the course, double or sequential cropping system was also highlighted. The farmers were encouraged to grow winter crops such as pea, chick pea, potato, mustard, winter maize, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, tomato, chilli, and beans after harvesting of rice to increase productivity, profitability and cropping intensity per unit of area. Altogether, 74 practicing farmers participated in the training and given seeds.
