Tuensang Village Citizens’ Union president N Kaimang cutting the ceremonial ribbon to inaugurate the Laiket Lembou Oil Pump (Indian Oil Corporation Limited outlet) in Tuensang on September 7.
Tuensang, September 7 (MExN): Laiket Lembou Oil Pump, an Indian Oil Corporation Limited outlet, was inaugurated at Tuensang on September 7, with Tuensang Village Citizens’ Union president N Kaimang as the special guest.
Speaking at the programme, proprietor C Bendang Chang expressed gratitude to village, ward, church and organisational leaders for their support in making the inauguration possible. He also urged residents in and around the oil pump to take necessary precautions and maintain personal safety.
VCC chairman, C Khel, Tuensang Village, M K Yangbou said the district had been facing oil insufficiency for a long time. He described the inauguration as a positive sign of development, noting that the facility would improve accessibility and convenience for people living away from the town centre.
He urged the Laiket Lembou Union to act as the caretaker of the public facility to ensure its uninterrupted functioning.
Laiket Lembou president S Chaba said the colony where the oil pump is located “consists of only 65 households but with residents and non-residents with different temperaments.” He requested the service provider to promptly inform the union of any untoward incidents within its jurisdiction.
Chaba also sought the cooperation of Laiket Lembou residents and the service provider to further improve the facility.
The programme included an invocation by Noksen Sangla R, Associate Pastor Youth, Jujam Baptist Lashong, and a dedication prayer by C Alem, Associate Pastor Women, JBL. Kaimang formally inaugurated the outlet and conducted the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
