Dimapur, January 28 (MExN): Lampstand Higher Secondary School, Toluvi village, Dimapur observed its silver jubilee with Azheto Zhimomi, MLA as special guest on January 27. 

Congratulating the school on reaching the milestone, MLA Azheto said, “it was very important to pay due respect and appreciation to all those who laid the foundation of the school 25 years ago and which, today, is imparting quality education.”

He said normal functioning of educational institutes have been disrupted in the past two years owing to pandemic and all concerned have faced new challenges but it also reminded once again that for proper and effective nurturing of a child's education and character, dedicated partnership of teacher and parents is necessary.

He was of the opinion that educational institutions will be able to function normally from this year on and suggested the parents for the extra care and co-operation with the teachers as role of parents/guardians has now become ever imperative with the introduction of information technology.

He also emphasized on the importance of character molding of children besides the academic learning and teachers and parents must share responsibility in imparting the students with values of good citizenship, civic sense, patriotism, respect for the leaders and elderly. 

Moulding the children in right direction will help the society to overcome all social evils and shun ism and disunity in the society.

Meanwhile, he also wished Naga people will soon find solution to Indo-Naga issues.

Jubilee memorial monolith was dedicated by Rev Dr Phughoto Aye, executive secretary WSBAK. Nini Sekhose, President ANPSA also graced the occasion.
