Dimapur, June 30 (MExN): ‘Proposals’ of the Cabinet sub-committee on land resources shall not be applicable with “ENPO jurisdiction, the Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organization (ENPO) has declared. The ENPO issued a statement today saying it is opposed to ‘mining, drilling, exploitation etc of all minerals till further resolutions.’ “The ENPO as an organization is not opposed to any developmental initiatives by government whether central or state but is for the time being opposed to mining, drilling, exploitation etc of all minerals till further resolutions to be arrived at,” the ENPO note said. ENPO’s president Y Mangko Phom and general secretary Toshi Wungtung appended the brief statement. “Hence the proposals of the state Cabinet sub-committee shall not be applicable within ENPO jurisdiction,” the organization stated.
