Phek, November 9 (MExN): The Lasumi Hoho celebrated its 25th anniversary with the theme “Retrospect and rejuvenate” at Lasumi Village on November 9 with Minister for Planning & Co-ordination Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs, Neiba Kronu as the guest speaker. 


Kronu acknowledged the uniqueness of Lasumi Village organization in the form of Lasumi Hoho which is one of a kind in the village level consisting of village leaders and intellectuals from the village to plan for the development of the village and resolve important issues pertaining to the village. He mentioned that such unique organization at village level can be emulated by others as well. 


The Minister appreciated the Lasumi village for receiving the “Golden Award” from the Nagaland State Cooperative Bank and reminded to wisely avail the banking facilities. He called on the Lasumi villagers to work together and urged the people to set aside trivial issues and work together for the community progress and development. While appreciating the Lasumi villagers for their biodiversity conservation, he reminded the gathering about the huge prospect and potential in developing tourism in the area. He also reiterated his commitment to develop the 16th Pfutsero constituency to be a model constituency in the state.


The minister also released the 25th anniversary souvenir and laid the foundation stone of Agri-Link road at Lasumi village. 
Chakhesang Public Organization, President, Mikha Kenye congratulated Lasumi Hoho for reaching a milestone and urged them to promote peace and harmony for community progress and development. Kenye reminded the people that leadership changes with time and urged them to extend fullest cooperation towards the community leaders in carrying out developmental activities. He also appealed the villagers to resolve land ownership related issues to avail government development projects. Rev Dr Dingu Kenye, pastor, Lasumi Baptist Church invoked God’s blessings for the celebration.


The programme was chaired by Wekhrope Marhu, Chairman Lasumi Hoho. Kedulhipe Krome Village Council Chairman extended welcome address. Special cultural presentations were made by the Lasumi Women Society and Lubu tro. It was attended by the village leaders from Pfutsero area, Officers, Public leaders and village community members.
