Kohima, October 16 (MExN): The Lotha Catholic Khumshum Kohima (LCKK) held ‘prayer and recollection’ in preparation for the Diocese Jubilee with Rev Fr Glanson Chacko as the speaker at SFS church Kohima on October 15.
The programme was held on the theme ‘May my prayer be like incense in your presence, my uplifted hands like the evening sacrifice’ Psalms 141-2. It commenced with the recitation of the Holy Rosary, followed up by exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, healing and deliverance, LCKK media cell stated in a press release.
In his sermon, Rev Fr Glanson Chacko highlighted on the importance of prayer and recollection ahead of the diocese jubilee. He mentioned that prayer, being the cornerstone of one's faith, plays a central role in this preparation. He added that these prayerful moments are providing solace and spiritual strength as they look forward to commemorating this significant event.
Fr Glanson also stressed on the importance of recollection, a practice of introspection and self-examination that has also become a focal point in the lead-up to the jubilee. “It is an opportunity for the faithful to review their lives, acknowledge their shortcomings, and make amends where necessary. The practice of recollection is seen as a pathway to spiritual growth and a way to approach the jubilee with a renewed commitment to living out their faith,” he added.
The programme concluded with a Holy Mass celebration.
