Wokha, April 26 (MExN): Four Legislators from Wokha District led by the Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of  Home & Road and Bridges, Y Patton visited Ralan Area to check the preparedness level and held interaction with the public on April 25.


The Minister, who is also In-Charge of COVID-19 for Wokha district, and his team visited the area to take firsthand information with regard to the pandemic crisis at Ralan Area as the lower range of Lotha shares a close border with Assam State, informed a DIPR report. 


During the visit, Ralan Area Lotha Hoho, Chairman, Samuel Ovung while apprising about the preventive measures undertaken by the area people, stated that the real challenges to contain the crisis is to have health care facilities and workforce to manage the crisis.


He also requested Patton and his colleagues to urgently post a Medical Officer at PHC Ralan which is lying vacant.


The Chairman also urged for posting of additional security manpower to curb frequent use of cross border activities undertaken by substance abusers and peddlers taking advantage of the total lockdown, the report said.


Patton while appreciating the general public for taking their responsibilities to contain the pandemic disease in spite of many challenges,  assured that he along with his colleagues will pursue their grievances at the higher level, it added. 


He also handed a cash amount Rs 1, 20,000 to the Chief Medical Officer, Wokha for maintenance of four ambulances for smooth accessibility during emergency situations.


The Dy Chief Minister was accompanied by Advisor, Horticulture & Border Affairs, Mathung Yanthan, Advisor, Higher Technical & IT, Science & Technology, New & Renewable Energy, Mmhonlumo Kikon, MLA Dr. Chumben Murry, Jt. Secretary Border Affairs L.Jamithiung Lotha, DIG (Border) Videlalie Zashumo, Sr. SP (Border) James Mhonbemo Humtsoe, DC & Chairman District Task Force Wokha, Orenthung Lotha, CMO Dr. W. Tungoe and DDMA Wokha unit Mercy Kithan.
