 
                          
                  
•-Arunachal Pradesh Statehood Silver Jubilee celebrations 1987-2011 was held and progress report of the State was released on 20th February 2011. Some impressive points worth mentioning are:-
(1) 414 habitations connected through 2752 kms of PMGSY roads and work on connecting 513 habitations Border Blocks under progress. (2) Work on first railway line in the state and 4-lane highway to Itanagar in full swing. (3) Rupees 77.25 crores sanctioned for Itanagar Water supply System under JNNURM, rapid progress being made. (4) First Greenfield airport sanctioned for the State at Itanagar with operational Capacity of handling Boeings/Airbus. (5) National Institute of Technology set up in the state at Yupia and operational from current academic session. (6) Hi-end low floor buses made operational under JNNURM. (7) Best State Award under PPP in health sector. (8) First state in the North-East amongst the first in the Country to implement 6th Pay Commission with arrears. (9) Wages of contingency worker enhanced almost 3 times and reservation for them in regular posts. (10) First state in the North-East India to introduce Third Party Monitoring for effective project implementation and to promote transparency. (11) Ration Card data based and food stock allocation being computerized under e-PDS in all Districts of the state. PDS commodities been taken to remote un-connected villages through helicopters.
A time has come to introspect ourselves. We might find some comfort in the writings of the abrasive but adept Nassim Nicholas Taleb (“The Black Swan,” published 2007). We might be cheered by this sly gem from Taleb: People apologize so they can do it again.”
