DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 14 (MExN): Livingstone Foundation Higher Secondary School (LFHSS), Dimapur, observed Parents’-cum-Children’s’ Day on Monday, with Advisor, Co-operation & Sericulture, Azheto Zhimomi, MLA, as chief guest of the celebration.
Greeting both parents and students on the occasion, the chief guest said that on parents day, parents are treated with a glimpse of joy and hope; “an inspiration to renew responsibility of parenthood.”
To students, Azheto exhorted them to “show love and respect to the world around you. Obey your parents, teachers and be loyal towards your family, school and nation.”
He also said that over the years, LFHSS has flourished much, both in terms of academic and the infrastructure of the school.
“As I look around the campus, there is a quantum leap of progress, which a reflection a vision, dedication and sacrifices of the school authority,” he said.
The chief guest further said that teachers play a vital role in shaping characters of students who are going to be leaders of tomorrow.
“And thus, to a great effect, the character of a nation may be attributed to the teachers who mould the young minds at a tender age,” he added.
Administrator, LFHSS, Arthur Edwards, in his address confessed that during his more than two decade associating with school children; he has come to realize that “children are the lifeline for parents and all of us. Without them, we cannot imagine what the world would like be.”
