In spite of a rain soaked event mid-way through the day, as guests and students scrambled for cover from the downpour, Livingstone Foundation International (LFI) organized its first graduation day ceremony-cum-book launch at its Green Lawn on April 23.

Speaking to the students as the chief guest for the occasion, Temjen Imna Along, Minister of Higher & Technical Education and Tribal Affairs, noted that, “All of you are going to achieve greatness in doing your best, remember that.

But I want you to know that nothing comes easy and nothing will be easy.” Further commenting that, “You are the threshold of your adventure to begin in life. The greatest thing you can become is to be the right person at the right time.”

He called upon the students not only to depend on government jobs but to look beyond and try their hands at businesses and other professions as well. He also highlighted how a major chunk of the state’s GDP is diverted outside the state as most of the students go out of the state for their educational needs. Nevertheless, he also appreciated the efforts of schools like LFI and educationists including Dr Andrew Ahoto Sema for making quality education a reality within the state.

At the same time he reminded the teaching staffs that, “You are into the business of building life so kindly keep your problems and frustrations away from school. As a part of you is inculcated into the students.”

All together, 96 students from LFI belonging to various streams of the 2021 batch graduated their senior secondary school. During the convocation ceremony, the grads were awarded with graduation certificates.

The occasion was made more exuberant with a special number by, Alobo Naga who belted out one of his popular tune, ‘Mistry Gaana.’ Speeches were also delivered on behalf of both the outgoing grads as well as the present batch of Grade-XII students.

‘3C SOS – The Final Answer’ released
A book entitled ‘3C SOS – The Final Answer’ authored and published by the Chairman of LFI, Dr Andrew Ahoto Sema was also officially launched during the occasion. At which time he gave a short talk on the essence and synopsis of the book.

Detailing the challenges and experiences he faced while scaling Mt Everest for the Guinness book of records fashion show event and travelling across different parts of the country. He also highlighted the importance of education and value-based learning in the crucial stages of a child’s life.

‘3C SOS – The Final Answer’ is a non-fiction Illustrative and Informative book. It covers the adventurous journey of the author to Mt Everest in Nepal and also seeks to bring about a wide-scale transformation in not only education but also in environmental concerns throughout the country and even beyond.

While at the same time, shedding valuable insights into the current COVID-19 pandemic, SOS is the key acronym for distress and an emergency reaction to the effects of the 3 Cs representing Climate Change, COVID-19 and Curriculum.
