Kohima, December 30 (MExN): Lidi Kro-u, a group of likeminded women from different khels (sectors) of Kohima village conducted traditional skills and knowledge training for young boys and girls at Ziekezou, near DBHSS Kohima on December 30.
The group of women concerned that the traditional practices and knowledge is lacking among the younger generation came together with the idea of preservation and promotion of the traditional skills and knowledge of the Angami community.
Starting with the effort, the group imparted a day long training on Bamboo craft (keprü rhitho) for boys and rice pounding and cleaning (ketsü thu mu pekhrei) for girls. Around 50 teenagers came forward to learn the skills.
The group informed that they would continue to impart such traditional skills and folklores and this platform is open to all interested youngsters.
The Group also said that during the upcoming Angami premier festival Sekrenyi in February, they would impart training on cultural songs and traditional practices.
