Information on collection of school statistics
Dimapur, October 7 (MExN): All concerned schools including Navodaya and Kendriya Vidyalaya, CBSE and ICSE affiliated are informed that the department is conducting its annual collection of school statistics as on September 30, 2011 relating to enrolment, teachers and infrastructures through District Information System for Education (DISE) formats which are mandatory throughout the country yearly. This was informed in a press release issued by Dimapur district chairman DMA-SSA, deputy commissioner N Hushili Sema, IAS. In this connection all government schools will collect format from their respective EBRCs and private schools in Dimapur district are requested to collect the said formats from the office of the District Education officer, Dimapur Room No 5, first floor between 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Issuing and submission of the formats will be entertained from October 8 till 18th. “Kindly comply with the notification so as to avoid any untoward situation,” the release also added.
Biometric campaign under Changtongya from Oct 11
Changtongya, October 7 (DIPR): Biometric campaign on National Population Registration will be held from October 11 to 13 under Changtongya Sub-Division. In this connection an orientation workshop cum meeting was held at the town hall on October 7. The meeting was chaired by SDO (c) Changtongya, Chubawati Chang. During the meeting Assistant Director Census, T. Noksang Imchen said that it will be done compulsorily for all citizen above the age of 5 years. He also explained its importance and advantages of the unique Identity Card that it will be able to use for multi purposes in the years to come and further said that it will be a continuous purpose. He also highlighted the role and responsibilities of the Enumerators and Supervisors and the need for cooperation from the Village Council, GBs, and Wards Chairmen during the Biometric exercise in their respective Villages and Wards.
Chang apex bodies against sale of alcohol
Dimapur October 7 (MExN): The Chang Apex Bodies comprising of CKS, CCSU, CTS, CBLT, GBs Union, along with Tuensang Village Citizen’s Union and the TDMA held an emergency meeting on October 4, 2011 to discuss the issue of the illegal sale of alcohol within Tuensang town vicinity.
Amungla Chang, President, Changsao Thangjam Setshang, in a press release stated that the bodies resolved to take stern actions against any individual or group, found involved in the illegal business. It further stated that the decision was taken in support of the state government’s total ban of Alcohol and declaration of the dry state.
The meeting also stressed on the issue of “Chalop Khaim” selling alcohol in the wet canteen of Assam Rifles and appealed the Kohima High Court Bench to re-evaluate the approval of reopening of the canteen through its order dated September 22 Writ Petition No.230 (K)/2011 and stated that the canteen was banned by the TDMA with support of the general public for illegal sale of liquor in the canteen under the same trade license. The meeting too resulted in a deliberate decision that the agreement with “Chalop Khaim” for complete closure of the wet canteen be adhered in letter and spirit so as not to give way to an unpleasant situation.
