Minister concerned over shortage of manpower in medical dept

Dzülha (Phek) | December 22: Minister for health & family welfare Küzholüzo (Azo) Nienu on December 21 inaugurated the newly constructed building of Primary Health Centre at Dzülha village under Phek district.
The minister regretted that post creation has not been granted to the medical department for the last 20/30 years, resulting shortage of manpower for the past many years.
In the meantime, he was appreciative that the government has recently sanctioned 47 posts to medical department and another 40 to 50 more posts also expected to be sanctioned by the government. Azo was hopeful that the performance of the department and health care delivery system will improve drastically with the increase in number of manpower. He continued that manpower needs to be increased to deal with the increasing growth of population.
Stating that health and education are two basic things for human being, he said “It is your responsibility to take care of your health” as government is just a facilitator and cannot go directly to each and every individual home for treatment.
Referring to Primary Health Centre at Dzülha, the minister called upon the community to consider this Centre as their own property and take care of it.
He stated that once the community takes care of the provided hospitals/health centres within the state, a huge amount spending on treatment outside the state can be prevented.
Further, the minister requested the villagers to extend their cooperation to the doctor and nurses so that the later can deliver good health care service to the community.
