Longleng, March 21 (MExN): Longleng District Task Force (DTF) meeting on COVID-19 was convened by the Deputy Commissioner & chairman DTF, Longleng on March 20 at DC's conference hall.


The DC briefed on the urgency of the meeting to stop infiltration and spread of Coronavirus in the district. He informed about installation of hand wash and sanitizer at the entrance of the DC’s office gate. He also urged the SBI authority to keep hand sanitizer in every ATM booth in the district with immediate effect.


CMO Longleng informed the house on the action plan and immediate strengthening of mechanism to control the spread of COVID-19 in the district. The department will come up with a micro plan of training program for government departments, NGOs, Churches and village authorities. All units in the district to maintain a separate register for COVID-19 related cases and in the event of any detection, the Rapid Response Team of Mokokchung district will assist the Longleng district. Immediate functional of isolation ward for patients of corona virus and need to identify quarantine for the district.


ADC and Administrator LTC, D Robin reiterated its standing directions of the various directives issued to the business community and the general public of Longleng.


After deliberation, the house decided that the district administration will communicate with the agents dealing in hand wash/sanitizer and make it available in the district at the earliest possible time. The department of PHED and Housing have been entrusted to mobilize resources for immediate construction of toilet for isolation ward latest by March 23. All shops and business establishments to compulsorily keep hand sanitizer for their personal use and medical department will notify the public on district helpline numbers.


The Phom Students' Conference (PSC) has been assigned for distribution of pamphlets of basic sanitization habits & practices and information on COVID-19 translated in local dialects to every household. Two check posts at Chingtok junction and Naga junction for screening and monitoring people entering the district to be activated by the Senior Superintendent of Police in coordination with the district administration.
