Longleng, December 6 (MExN): The Longleng District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner M Shayung Phom was a held December 6 at DC’s conference hall.
The Deputy Commissioner (DC) while addressing the members informed on the sudden demise of Dr Wannau Phom, Medical Officer, Longleng on December 4 in Delhi, said a DIPR report.
In his condolence message, the DC described Dr Wannau as one of the sincere and dedicated officers who was loved and admired by all because of his benevolent nature.
Recalling his life, Shayung asserted that the Phom community has lost a young and dynamic officer which is hard to fill.
The meeting commenced with one minute silent prayer to the departed soul followed by review of last meeting minutes.
The house decided to recommend the proposal submitted by the PPC for up gradation of GMS Tamlu to GHS and EAC Yongnyah to SDO (Civil), creation of RD Block and CDPO office in Yongnyah.
The house deliberated for regular NST bus service from Longleng to Kohima & Dimapur and establishment of detoxification centre at district hospital was raised by the CDPO and CMO, Longleng respectively.
Upgradation of present post office, Longleng to Post Master status and proper traffic management of Longleng town was also discussed during the meeting.
The Deputy Commissioner in his concluding remark informed the members about the ongoing renovation of the DC’s office and the Advent Christmas program of the DC’s staff to be held on December 7 at DC office complex.
