Lotha Students Union 51st general conference concludes

Wokha, January 29 (MExN): The 51st general conference of the Lotha Students Union (LSU) concluded on January 28 at Merapani village (Merachü Yan) with Mmhonlumo Kikon, Advisor IT, Science & Technology and NRE, Government of Nagaland as the special guest.
Lauding the LSU led by its leaders, a DIPR report stated that Mmhonlumo stated that their steadfast stand to preserve, protect and safeguard the rights and interest of the Lothas as guardians of its future is commendable and called on them to use wisdom and be able to identify the philosophy and rationale behind positions and leadership assumed by individuals or groups that involves policies and interests of the people and its impact on the society at the present time and the future.
Stressing that unity of purpose for a common cause is the stepping stone to achieve what they aspire; he exhorted them to promote unity without geographical definitions and division among them as a people to shape a better future as their birth right.
Stating that students are the leaders in the making, without knowing the historical and issue based realities one cannot be an effective leader of any society; he therefore, encouraged them to keep in touch with the ground realities and play constructive roles in making collective decisions through participatory discussions for the benefit of the people.
He also observed that while social media can be used to communicate informative messages and to articulate ideas, knowledge and policies to the masses, productive time of the young students should not be wasted by too much indulgence in social media activities that do not help in building their life but may prove to be destructive in the long run.
Observing that young people who bear sense of responsibility and feels burdened in life have better chances to excel in studies and achieve set goals, he reminded that success will not be possible without hard work at the right time and encouraged them to pursue their dreams with persistence and determination.
Niranjan Sonowal President, All Assam Students’ Union Golaghat unit, while delivering greeting speech said that the students have a special and responsible part to play in maintaining friendship and in promoting peace and security for all concerned. Rev C Ellis Odyuo said prayer of blessings for the students.
