LU NH-29 queries on ‘compensation issue’

Chümoukedima, May 30 (MExN): The Landowners Union (LU) NH-29 today stated it was “appalled at how certain individual and organization viewed ‘compensation issue’ as a very unreasonable demand.”

The union in a press release appended by its President K Vishepu Assumi and General Secretary,  Vichosel Rhutso queried as to whether this was the first time where concerned landowners have raised issues toward compensation.
It also queried whether the landowners of the entire Nagaland have forfeited compensation issue.

“What is so gross about requesting compensation when the concerned landowners are willing to accommodate government’s requirement by moving out of their comfort zone?”

It further queried whether the word “rehabilitation, displacement and resettlement” ever make sense to them.

The union was of the opinion that the “most vocal parrot of the present imbroglio will think twice before blabbering out his baby-talk, should his plot be involved.”

The union further expressed its equal dismay at how certain vested individual and organization easily talk of ‘magnanimity, benignity and renunciation’ without considering the plight of the concerned landowners. It sought answers as to “how good those words are in actual application when it is a known fact that it is doing more harm than good even to a helpless widow.”
