Maj Gen VPS Kaushik takes charge of IGAR (North)

Dimapur, March 20(MExN): Major General Viresh Pratap Singh Kaushik, SM assumed the post of Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) on March 20.

 

The General Officer is an alumnus of St Paul’s School, Lucknow, National Defence Academy, Indian Military Academy and was commissioned into 3 KUMAON (Rifles) in June 1988. He has vast experience of the North East having served in Nagaland, Manipur, Shillong and Assam. The General Officer has also served in Assam Rifles earlier, according to a statement from the PRO.

 

In a ceremony, Major General Pradeep Nair AVSM, YSM, handed over the charge to Major General VPS Kaushik, SM. Major General Pradeep Nair served as IGAR (North) for 21 months. He will now proceed to Army HQ, New Delhi to take over his next assignment.
