Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh said that the Union Home Minister Amit Shah "has assured that all stakeholders will be consulted before final decision of the Indo-Naga peace talks".

The Chief Minister stated the above statement to the media persons at the sideline of the State Level Kut Festival 2019 held at 1st Manipur Rifles Battalion Ground in Imphal on Friday.

Addressing the media persons, the Chief Minister maintained that the Central government is taking the issue seriously and State government trusts the "positive commitment" made by the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister. He appealed the people of the State to maintain peace and calm.

The Chief Minister then said that the government is against those "forces" that could divide the State on the "ethnic lines".

Mentioning that the government is for the people, he promised that the government would never let the people's aspirations down. He maintained that there should be mutual respect and understanding among the communities. "Sharing and caring among the communities could make Manipur a strong State", he added.
