MCCI cautions against price rise

Mokokchung, May 5 (MExN): The Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce (MCCI) today stated in a press release that even though the government of Nagaland is levying COVID-19 cess on diesel and petrol, businesses and traders are informed to keep the prices of goods and services within the pre-COVID-19 cess rate in the larger interest of serving the people in view of fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

“Businesses and traders are not to hike prices of their goods and services arbitrarily. Grievances, if any, should be brought to the notice of MCCI and any business or trader hiking prices without the knowledge of MCCI shall be doing so at their own risk,” MCCI, President Tsukti Longkumer and General Secretary, Limalenden Longkumer cautioned in the press release.

 

Business establishments and traders in Mokokchung are informed to continue to cooperate with the authorities and follow all protocols and directives from the competent authorities on COVID-19. Further, it is reminded once again that any business establishment or trader found indulging in unethical business practices shall invite stern action.
