Dimapur, March 22 (MExN): Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Muslim Council Dimapur (MCD) has appealed all Jama Masjids and Panjagana Committees with Dimapur district to call off mass prayers (Jammat Namaz) and other mass based activities. In a written appeal which was issued to the media on Sunday, the Council called on all presidents and general secretaries of the bodies to lend a “helping-hand” to the authorities in Nagaland in preventing the spread of the corona virus by stopping mass based prayers and other activities in their respective Masjids with immediate effect. However, only the Imam and the Masjid staff may be allowed to perform the mandatory Namaz in the Masjid, the MCD statement read.
