New Delhi, April 24 (MExN): The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has launched a dedicated online portal aimed at simplifying the process of obtaining political clearance for foreign nationals attending events in India.
The new platform, available at https://conference.epolclearance.gov.in, is designed to facilitate applications for political clearance to attend conferences, seminars, workshops, and sporting events organized by government bodies, autonomous institutions, and private entities across the country.
According to a statement from the Ministry, the portal is part of its ongoing efforts to support the Government of India’s Digital India initiative. “The system is fully online and user-friendly, enabling faster processing of applications and reducing the need for manual interventions,” the MEA stated.
Departments and organizing institutions have been urged to begin using the platform for all future applications. The MEA has also invited users to provide feedback to help improve the system’s efficiency and accessibility.
The introduction of the portal marks a significant step towards increasing transparency and reducing bureaucratic delays in granting clearances for international participants, aligning with broader government goals to promote ease of doing business and international collaboration.
